The Architecture of Siena, Italy

In some cities, the ambiance is defined by the people and how they move through the cityscape. In Siena, its the other way around: the cityscape takes center stage, and the colorful characters mostly sit around looking impeccable. From the Torre del Mangia that hovers over Italy’s best public square — Il Campo — to the riotous Medieval cathedral, it is hard not to describe Siena as anything but a masterpiece.
